In addition to many of the banks introducing least cost and merchant routing products over the past few months, in recent weeks we have also seen retail industry associations significantly ramp up their lobbying for better access least cost routing.

They are calling on the banks to make the service available to all retailers, on all plans and on digital products like eCommerce and mobile.  They are also calling for pricing transparency.

This activity is the result of a lot of hard work with these groups over a number of years and it is now building a momentum of its own that should have an increasing impact on the industry, Government and regulators.

There has also been a new website established to explain least cost routing and where it is available. This resource is being updated regularly with new information
