Andreas Winther joins eftpos to boost value for Australian retailers

By October 7, 2020No Comments

eftpos today announced Andreas Winther has joined the eftpos team as Head of Merchant & Acquiring to help eftpos meet the needs of Australian retailers and merchants at this important time in the nation’s economic recovery.

Andreas is running the broad eftpos merchant strategy that will see eftpos build further value for retailers beyond our already low price, in order to grow value and relationships through innovations such as digital, mobile wallets and our digital identity solution, connectID.

Andreas was previously with Visa as Head of Marketing (including merchant/issuer sales) for the Scandinavian and Baltic markets in Europe where there have been significant shifts in the way people pay.  In Sweden for example, cash now makes up less than 1.4% of Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE).

Prior to this he spent almost a decade with GE Capital internationally after obtaining an MBA from Stockholm School of Economics.

“It’s great to be at eftpos at this important time in the company’s transformation and I look forward to working with issuers, merchants and acquirers to drive business growth and adoption of new and more efficient ways to pay,” Mr Winther said.
