Driven by our brand purpose, which is to do good for Australia, eftpos employees rolled up their sleeves, donned the lycra, ate delicious cakes, and hit the pavement in their efforts to support many worthy charities in 2020.

Fundraising efforts led by the eftpos charity team have almost $40,000 this year, despite COVID.

With a large proportion of employee donations going to approved bushfire charities in response to the devastating bushfires over summer and the incredible efforts of communities, firefighters, and volunteers.

eftpos tripled employee donations to these bushfire charities, as many Australians continue to face an uphill challenge in rebuilding their lives after the bushfires of last Summer.

Stephen Benton eftpos CEO, was one of many business leaders who travelled to fire-ravaged Batemans Bay in March to hear the first-hand and often devastating yet inspirational account, from former NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, local businesses, the Mayor and others.

Shane Fitzsimmons at the times spoke about the incredible job done by the firefighters, the impact the bushfires have had on thousands of families and the difficult road to recovery faced by many.

eftpos and its employees have a long history of giving to Australians in need and many wanted to contribute to the bushfire rebuilding effort.

Employees supported a number of other charities including, Camp Quality in the Cole Classic, the Cancer Council across two fundraising events (Biggest Morning Tea and 7 Bridges Challenge), the Bloody Long Walk in support of the Mito Foundation and the MS Sydney to Gong Ride.

Employees also supported RU OK Day. This was important, reflecting on year that was 2020 and the isolation that many people endured. The charity aims to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life.

The eftpos charity team is set to announce a long-term charity partner in early 2021 and is committed to giving staff more opportunities to volunteer their time and effort through their own chosen charities.
