Stephen sits on both the eftpos Management Team and the Board. He moved into his current role of CEO in May 2018 after five years serving on the eftpos Board as a non-executive Director. Stephen is responsible for the leadership, development and management of the Company’s business activities in line with the Board-approved strategic plan.

As a leader, he’s passionate about realising eftpos’ purpose to do ‘Good for Australia’, and supporting eftpos’ team to do the same.

CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

Matt Barr

Matt joined eftpos as Chief Product Officer in November 2019 and is responsible for the design, development, deployment and in-market performance of eftpos’ expanding suite of payment products and services.

Matt has had domestic and international executive experience across payments, business software, telecommunications, financial services and management consulting businesses. He’s also held leadership positions in businesses navigating significant technology and consumer driven change, as well as executive positions in Australia and North America within Mastercard’s global product organisation.

Joining eftpos has given Matt the opportunity to use his passion for (and knowledge of) payment technology in the context of business transformation - an experience he has found both fascinating and rewarding. He is a great supporter of the eftpos company mission, and is proud to be helping drive real and consequential change to help all Australians.

CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Dave Ellett

As eftpos’ Chief Commercial Officer, Dave is responsible for Member engagement, business development and new business opportunities. Before joining eftpos in February 2019, Dave’s career saw him gather extensive global experience across sales, business development, strategic partnerships and finance.

Dave came to eftpos from Barclays, where he was Interim MD for the Global Payments network team responsible for strategic, commercial and operational aspects of the team – and prior to that, he spent 17 years at American Express. In his role at eftpos, Dave is very supportive of the shift towards ‘customer first’ communications, and is proud to be part of a team that’s continuing to evolve in such exciting ways.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Louise Hulley

At eftpos, Louise oversees the finance, risk management and project delivery – ensuring that eftpos' financial, risk management and project delivery decisions are mutually consistent and coherently integrated. Louise works to make certain that the product delivery function is guided by sound financial discipline and best risk management practices, while simultaneously meeting the business and strategic needs of eftpos.

Prior to joining eftpos in 2019, Louise spent more than 20 years in financial services, working across banking, super and insurance. She also holds professional qualifications with Chartered Accountant (Australia), Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) and as an Operational Risk Manager (PRMIA). The ‘Good for Australia’ purpose is what inspires her on a daily basis as eftpos, and she admires the infectious passion it inspires in the team.

GENERAL COUNSEL AND COMPANY SECRETARY

Robyn Sanders

A seasoned banking and regulatory lawyer, Robyn joined eftpos in 2011. She brought with her more than 25 years of payment-related experience throughout the Asia Pacific region, encompassing regulator liaison, advice about regulations, submissions for legal developments, drafting payment system rules, drafting and negotiating agreements, creating structures and governance models, alliances, M&A and new country expansion.

Over the course of her career, Robyn has advised a broad range of organisations, including payment systems and processers, financial institutions, ATM deployers and service providers – both within Australia and globally.

Now, she is embracing the opportunity to play an important part in eftpos’ continued evolution, as the business grows and transforms while staying true to its roots. For her, the rapid pace of change, legal challenges and chance to collaboratively improve the payment experience for the good of Australia is a strong motivator to do her best every single day.

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Ben Tabell

Ben joined eftpos as CIO in 2019 and leads the Company’s 24/7 Payments Technology and Operations Division, including management of the eftpos Hub and associated services, including Tokenisation and Settlement services. His responsibilities include delivery of IT Services and Operations to eftpos and its Members, production support, API development, on-boarding, certification, security (cyber) and key supplier management.

With a career extending over 28 years, Ben has held leading technology roles across financial services, FMCG and property management in London, Hong Kong and Australia – most recently as Chief Information Officer for HSBC Australia. He loves working at eftpos because of the values-driven culture, and the deep connection he feels with the eftpos family. Ben also embraces the opportunity to innovate on a daily basis, all with the intent of delivering a better experience for all Australians.

CHIEF PEOPLE & CULTURE OFFICER

Ashley Williams

Ashley joined the eftpos team in 2018, having previously worked across business development, relationship management, product strategy and management for Westpac and Cuscal. With formal training in Human Resources, it didn’t take her long to find her niche as Chief People & Culture Officer – a role that includes people and culture, digital and physical workplace management, strategic planning and the operating model framework – enabling Ashley to combine her experience working in the business with her passion for organisational effectiveness and strategy.

The eftpos culture is what excites Ashley the most – particularly the genuine connection team members have to their work and each other. She appreciates that you can learn so much in a smaller company due to the broad nature of roles. Her goal is to continue to support and enhance this culture, and continue to lift the commerciality of eftpos, voice of the customer, alignment, clarity, capabilities at both an organisational and personal level.
