There are plenty! To begin with, eftpos gives your customers the option of paying with their own money, rather than relying on credit. It’s efficient, convenient and extremely safe, with low card fraud rates across the industry^. Plus, offering eftpos reduces the amount of cash you need to hold in your till, reducing your exposure to theft or misappropriation.
Don’t worry, they can still pay with eftpos using almost any debit card issued by an Australian bank, regardless of which logo it has on it. All they have to do is press CHQ or SAV when they pay, and the transaction will go through eftpos.
Just get in touch with your payment acceptance service provider (usually your bank). They’ll be able to take care of all your set-up and ongoing needs.

Here’s what to do:
- Do NOT click on any links
- Immediately forward the email or SMS to fraud@eftposaustralia.com.au
- Delete the message from your inbox
- Block the sender if possible
Contact your bank or financial institution if you’ve:
- Shared your banking details in response to a hoax phone call, email or SMS
- Accidentally clicked on any links or downloaded any attachments
- Noticed any unusual transactions on your accounts
Remember that eftpos will never send you an email asking for your account details, financial details, or your login details from your bank or financial institution, Phone Banking, Mobile Banking or Internet Banking.
